As reported in WSAW Fox, The Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute is looking for minorities to take part in a family history study of Alzheimer’s disease.
Specifically, researchers are looking for people who are African-American and Latino to better understand why Alzheimer’s disease is more common in populations of color.
It is estimated that one in 10 people older than 65 has Alzheimer’s disease, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. Research sites are located in Madison, La Crosse and Milwaukee. TrialSite News has commissioned and published an original survey on African American participation in clinical trials. We make recommendations for greater more quality engagement in African American and other communities of color.
