Washington University Investing $300 Million in New Neuroscience Building

Washington University St. Louis confirmed the development of a planned $300 million neuroscience building project. It is in the early stages of planning, possibly the most expensive project in school history. According to one US News survey ,Washington University Neuroscience ranks ninth in the nation. Other data points for the Department of Neurology include:

  • More than 56,000 square feet of dedicated research space
  • Currently ranked No. 2 in the nation for funding among neurology departments of U.S. medical schools according to the Blue Ridge Institute of Medical Research
  • Institutional support for neuroscience research provided by two endowed research centers at the school including 1) the McDonnel Center for Systems Neuroscience & the McDonnell Center for Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology
