UT Southwestern Research Reveals New Alzheimer’s Vaccines Could Reduce Dementia Causes in Half

Nov 24, 2018 | Alzheimer, Alzheimer's Disease Trial, Alzheimer's Disease Vaccine

A DNA vaccine developed at the University of Texas and tested on mice could represent a future treatment for Alzheimer’s disease and may soon be incorporated into human clinical trials. The experimental vaccine reduced the accumulation of two classes of toxic proteins believed to be a cause of Alzheimer’s with no adverse effects to the mice involved with the preclinical research.
