UT Southwestern Research Indicates Allergy Immunotherapy Potential Adjunct Atopic Dermatitis Treatment

A recent University of Texas Southwestern (UT Southwestern) research report contributes to a body of evidence supporting subcutaneous allergy therapy. The investigators conclude that subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy appears to have reduced a patient’s symptoms of severe eczema. The UT Southwestern case report authors acknowledged that previous evidence was mixed but believe allergists could consider allergy immunotherapy as a potential adjunct treatment for atopic dermatitis.
