University of Wisconsin researchers found that in addition to “a miracle cure” for everything from anxiety to insomnia, it can actually make the individual physically healthier as reported in Bustle. The study included a sample of approximately 400 adults—all having received flu shots. The study researchers found that a group that practiced meditation got slightly fewer respiratory illnesses, and took fewer days off work, compared with a group that exercised and a control group. The study was published in the journal of PLOS One.
