A Sino-American research team is delving into an enzyme known as the myosin light chain (MLCK). Apparently, it serves a key function in the regulation of the epithelial barrier and possibly associate with gastrointestinal inflammation. The team is represented by a group of specialists from the following esteemed institutions:

  • Harvard Medical School
  • University of Illinois
  • First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, Suzhou China

The team seeks to target the MCKL1 version of MLCK in the pursuit to take on and improve IBD and other gastrointestinal problems. Their findings were recently published in Nature (see link below).
