The City of Murrieta in Southern California—in the Inland Empire—is not traditionally known for life science ventures. Perhaps that might change as the Murrieta Innovation Center attracts ever increasing numbers of life science startup ventures.

Inland Empire Life Science Showcase Up North

Part of the “Inland Empire,” Murrieta may be known more for palm trees, orange groves and increasing urban sprawl but life science biotech companies may be a new addition. The Murrieta Innovation Center, a startup incubator recently sent a group of biotech startups up to Silicon Valley along with InSoCal Connect to promote Inland Empire innovation to high-level venture capital investors reports Valley News.

The event was promoted by Angel Launch, which sold out with 50 investors and over 300 attendees seeking information on opportunities in southwest Riverside County. The local Riverside County biotech participants included:

This southern part of the Inland Empire has a growing life sciences startup scene. They increasingly attract angel investment seeking to capitalize on the traction and momentum of these ventures. Scott Agajanian oversees the city’s economic development and represents the point person for interested investors.
