Shine editor Cai Wenjun reports that a Sino-French joint medical school was established in Shanghai on Wednesday to boost cooperation between China and France in medical education, research and training.

The Sino-Franco Joint Medical School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine was developed from the school’s French class on clinical medicine. Students of the major will need to learn both French and clinical medicine. Through cooperation with dozens of leading French Universities over the past 20 years, the school of medicine has sent 303 students to France for one-year resident training, as well as nearly 200 young teachers, doctors and nurses and students for various studying and training.
