Ely Portillo reports for the Charlette Observer that Atrium Health (formerly Carolinas HealthCare System) plans a big new outpatient facility under development in the midtown area of Charlotte. It is the first phase of the new facility to be built over the next couple years. Part of a $250 million development, it represents an ongoing goal of providing vital access, convenience and quality healthcare to the region’s patients. Atrium Health, a not for profit hospital network which operates hospitals, emergency departments, urgent care centers and medical practices in North and South Carolina, centers around Carolinas Medical Center, the system’s flagship hospital and headquarters. The system has over 60,000 employees.
Atrium is a major clinical research center/site https://atriumhealth.org/research-clinical-trials with over 1,100 active clinical trials; more than 15 translational research laboratories and many cutting-edged investigator-initiated clinical trials.
