RTP-based Hatteras Launches New $94 Million Fund for Life Sciences

Apr 16, 2019 | Life Science Industry, Venture Capital

Frank Vinluan reports for Xconomy that venture capital group Hatteras, based in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) area, has launched another fund for life science ventures—this time with $94 million. The fund principals believe it could reach $200 million. This VC firm focuses on the southeast. RTP is a major clinical trials’ industry cluster. Most major CROs and industry sponsors have a presence there. Its concentration of elite universities, central location, moderate weather and access to outdoors makes it an incredible destination. Many east coast life science industry employees seek to relocate to RTP. The Hatteras portfolio is heavily concentrated in life sciences.
