George Underwood writing for PharmaPhorum notes that Sanofi appointed its first Chief Digital Officer. Ameet Nathwani is also executive vice president, chief medical officer. Now with the additional role, Dr. Nathwani will be responsible for enhancing Sanofi’s strategy to integrate digital technologies and medical science to improve patient outcomes. Mr. Nathwani will be needing to work diligently to support internal initiatives as well as mobilize a team to scan for external partnership and innovation opportunities. He has worked for Sanofi since 2016. From 2004 to 2016, he held various positions at Novartis. Prior to Novartis he was a VP of Clinical Cardiovascular Development at GSK. Clearly Mr. Nathwani brings deep big pharma clinical and therapeutic area pedigree. That will be required to sponsor new digital medicine programs, for example—in a large multinational such as Sanofi. Follow the link below to follow Mr. Underwood’s entry.
