NRG Oncology: A Cancer-based Investigator Network of over 1,300 Sites

NRG Oncology, a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit corporation, was founded in 2012 to integrate research of the legacy National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, and Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) programs. Representing a nationwide research organization, the network focuses on clinical trials centering on gender-specific malignancies, such as gynecologic, breast and prostate cancers, and on localized or locally advanced cancer of all types.

An Extensive Research Organization

The research group encompasses more than 1,300 research sites located worldwide with predominance in the United States and Canada. It includes multidisciplinary investigators from medical oncologists and radiation oncologists to surgeons, physicists, pathologists and statisticians. The organization is involved with hundreds of cancer-focused clinical trials

Funding & Interests

NRG Oncology is funded primary via National Cancer Institute (NCI) grants and is one of five research groups in the NCI’s National Clinical Trials Network.
