Lake Health (f/k/a Lake Health Hospital) is a system of hospitals and health care facilities throughout Ohio including Lake County, Cuyahoga County and Geauga County. Established over one hundred years ago, today it provides high-quality health care to residents in the region, via a comprehensive network of more than 500 physicians, about 3,000 team members and multiple facilities. An estimated 1,000 volunteers provide their time and talent daily. Recently, Crain’s Cleveland Business reports Lake Health launched a center dedicated to the holistic treatment of atrial fibrillation (A-Fib) and other heart rhythm disorders, including tailored offerings for disease management combining technology and procedures with integrated wellness.
Titled Lake Health A-Fib and Heart Rhythm Center, it is purported to be the first of its kind in Northeast Ohio. The American Heart Association reports that approximately 2.7 million Americans live with A-Fib. If left untreated it can lead to catastrophic cardiovascular conditions from blood clots to stroke and heart failure. Lake Health is active with clinical trials including oncology. A-Fib will offer opportunities to participate in select clinical trials.
