Israel’s Innovation Authority (IIA) and Argentina’s Rosario Stock Exchange have launched a technology alliance involving private ventures from both countries. The IIA will allocate funds to the Israeli ventures to cooperate and co-develop significant technology products, services and appliances with Argentinian companies. Clinical trials will be an area of investment.
The companies will be able to examine the process of validating the technology—conduct clinical trials, commercialize the technologies, etc. IAA will assist suitable Israeli firms in locating an Argentine partnership for a specific project and will fund up to 50% of the costs of pilot testing and validation.
It would appear that Israel has set up a program to expand markets for its technology providers, including life sciences, into this South American country. Affairs between the two countries have not always been smooth, but it would appear the two countries have locked into an economic agenda. Argentina has the largest Jewish population in Latin America and Benjamin Netanyahu is the first Prime Minister to visit Argentina and South America formally.
