The NIH has awarded the United States Renal Data System and its annual reports to the Chronic Disease Research Group of the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute.  This 5-year contract was awarded June 13, 2019.

The United States Renal Data System (USRDS) is a national registry that collects, analyzes and distributes information about chronic kidney disease and ESRD in the U.S. The first report was completed in 1989, reports Healio.

Kirsten L Johansen, MD director of the USRDS and the division of nephrology at Hennepin Healthcare at Hennepin County Medical Center expressed their excitement and gratitude for the award.  She will co-direct the Chronic Disease Group (CDRG).
