Generic Drug Company Sends 400K hydroxychloroquine tablets to Louisiana to Combat COVID-19

Amneal Pharmaceuticals will donate 400,000 hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets to the State of Louisiana to assist with the COVID-19 pandemic, which is gaining intensity there.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landy noted, “On behalf of Louisiana, I want to thank Amneal for this general donation.” 

Clinical Trials at LSU School of Medicine

The Attorney General’s office distributed an email reporting that LSU’s School of Medicine will launch two different clinical trials using hydroxychloroquine targeting COVID-19 patients. One study will use the anti-malarial drug on those with the COVID-19 disease. The other study will use and test the drug as a preventive measure for healthcare workers on the front lines of them pandemic.
