Melissa Fassbender of Outsourcing-Pharma reports that August Research is adding clinical trial operations in Georgia and Moldova, expanding the CRO’s reach in Central and Eastern Europe – a less developed market with “fewer competitive trials and lower costs,” says CEO.Who is August Research? Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, August Research is a niche clinical research organization running clinical trials in Central and Eastern Europe. August Research is an American-owned company with an operational headquarters in Sofia, Bulgaria. The company was founded in April 2012.  43 employees self-report as employees as of this writing. Just the other day they acquired sites in Georgia and Moldova.  They acquired the research operations of SPRI Clinical Trials in Georgia and Moldova just days ago. CEO Dana Leff Niedzielska is quoted “Georgia is a very attractive market for conducting clinical trials with its very fast start-up timeline and Moldova is a natural extension of August Research’s operations in Romania.”
