China Regulatory Authorities Propose New Gene Editing Regulations

The Scientist reports that gene editing in China will undergo more stringent regulatory requirements.  It reports a Bloomberg article noting “the guidelines would require clinical trials involving gene-editing and other experimental life science technologies to be classified as high or low risk, and to obtain approval from government authorities before proceeding.”  This is the direct result of the controversial Chinese scientists who edited the genomes of twin girls.  Follow the link below to read more.
