Advent Health’s WARRIOR Trial Focuses on Female Heart Disease

As reported in Benzinga, Florida-based AdventHealth’s Pepin Heart Institute is leading the WARRIOR Trial. The nation’s first large, randomized controlled research study for the ongoing issue of women who have chest pain or other symptoms of heart disease but no significant blockage on testing. Research evidences men receiving different levels of care than women. The WARRIOR trial will concentrate on women over 40 who show signs of coronary heart disease and exhibit symptoms such as chest pains and shortness of breath but do not have artery blockage. The WARRIOR Trial will study both lifestyle changes, and intensive treatment with medications such as statins, ACE inhibitors, PCSK9 inhibitors, and aspirin.
