This impacts clinical sponsors as well who increasingly seek to leverage exchange standards to identify population health trends to support drug development initiatives.
Ms. Bresnick reports that health data interoperability challenges are making it difficult for healthcare organizations to access the core information required for true population health management. Health exchange standards such as HL7 and FHIR are commonplace now, but as reported in a recent survey quoted by Ms. Bresnick, this is not translating into results.
