Capital Medical University Researchers Survey Stem-Cell Therapy Advances in China

Researchers from Capital Medical University School, Beijing China survey stem-cell therapy in China. The stem-cell research movement gains momentum in China because of 1) an increase in government funding 2) volumes of high-quality clinical trials 3) growing number of translational studies 4) approximately 100 stem-cell banks have been established 5) as of the writing 10 stem-cell drugs were in the national agency approval process and 6) ongoing regulatory modernization will continue to positively position Chinese stem-cell research momentum.

Capital Medical University, (CMU),originally called Beijing Second Medical College, was founded in 1960. It ranks among the top medical institutions in China and is considered one of the ley municipal universities in Beijing.  CMU consists of 10 schools, 14 affiliated hospitals and 1 teaching institution. The combined university and affiliated hospitals employ a staff of approximately 20,000.
